Our Beliefs
What We Believe
We believe that Jesus of Nazareth physically lived, physically died and then physically rose from the dead proving that He was the Christ, the second person of the Trinity, God the Son. This also proves that what He said and taught was absolutely correct. We believe that the belief in the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ is the core of the Christian faith and all other Christian beliefs are dependent upon it.
We believe that Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant revelation of God. It is the absolutely accurate revelation of God’s character and nature. We believe this because Jesus Christ treated the Bible as such and He rose from the dead.
We believe that God has revealed Himself to be three distinct persons (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) completely united into one essence by joined wills, knowledge, love and presence.
We believe that the Trinity directly created the entire universe. This means that the foundation of reality is ultimately spiritual instead of physical and questions about reality will have a primary spiritual answer. We believe, that although, not all the details about how God created the universe are included in Scripture, the correct Biblical interpretation of those details that are included is accurate and will agree with an accurate interpretation of the physical evidence.
We believe that humanity is morally responsible to follow God’s Law and act in accordance to God’s Nature because we were created by God. Sin is a willful act by humanity in violation of God’s Law or God’s Nature. Sin leads to spiritual and physical death. Sin leads to separation between humanity and God, among humans and between humanity and Creation. If not changed, sin will ultimately lead to a human being’s eternal separation from God.
What PEACE & POWER believes is not the ultimately deciding factor in a person’s eternal destiny, God can be merciful to whom He chooses and God is justified in being wrathful to those He also chooses. However, we believe that Jesus Christ taught and the Holy Scriptures reveals that salvation is only by the grace made available to every human being through faith in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. “If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you shall be saved.”
We believe that through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, God has reconnected with specific individuals. As these individuals partake in the salvation available through Christ they become part of the Church. Whereas upon salvation they are automatically part of the Universal Church it is also imperative that they become an intimate part of a specific Local Church. We Believe that the church has two present tense functions: to be the body of Christ on earth and to prepare to be the bride of Christ in heaven.
We believe at some point in the imminent future God will dramatically intervene in the course of history through the return of Jesus Christ causing the culmination of this Creation. At this moment humanity will enter eternity. Those who are connected with God will be eternally present with God (heaven). Those who are disconnected from God will be eternally separated from God (hell). Although, heaven and hell are primarily spiritual this does not diminish their reality.
